HP Recommended

I bought the Officejet Pro 8720 in UAE and the ink cartridge is HP953. I now live in India and these cartridges are not available, therefore whilst in Australia I bought HP955 cartridges, which are shown as being compatible with the Officejet Pro 8720 (HP953 not available there either). However, when I loaded them in the machine, I get a message saying that 'the indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer' and the printer will not function. Is there a solution to this issue?
