HP ENVY Inspire 7955e
I installed the ink cartridges sent to me though HP+ and my printer is now stuck on the “validating…please wait” screen. I have unplugged and waited 60 seconds multiple times already. Nothing is working at all, please help!

Hi @kd42586,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e printer. The "validating...please wait" message typically appears when the printer is trying to confirm that the ink cartridges are genuine or compatible. If your printer is stuck on this screen and unplugging it hasn't resolved the issue, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
- Check for Proper Installation: Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed in their respective slots. Sometimes, a slightly misaligned cartridge can cause validation issues. Make sure they are securely seated.
- Restart the Printer: While the printer is unplugged, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes help clear any temporary glitches.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP website and search for the latest firmware update for your printer model. Follow the instructions to install the update if available.
- Reset the Printer: You can try performing a factory reset on your printer. This will reset all settings to their defaults, but it might resolve the issue. The exact steps for a factory reset can vary by printer model, so consult your printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
