When I print a page, there are always vertical lines down the left side of the page. It almost looks like the ink faded and the white gets more intense toward the center of each line. (I'll attach a photo to show what I mean). Anyway, when I first noticed this, I changed the black ink since it appears to only affect black coloring. This did not solve the issue. I also let it perform a cleaning about a dozen times, where you insert the cleaning page. No matter how many times I did this, there was no improvement. I don't believe it's the ink cartridge since the problem was occurring before and after I changed the ink.

Here are troubleshooting steps I've already taken:

  • Changed ink cartridge
  • HP Doctor (said there were no problems)
  • Updated driver and all software
  • Updated printer firmware
  • Tried multiple different computers, same except print-quality issue
  • Set printer to clean mode (did over a dozen clean pages)
  • Adjusted tray; no change

Anyways, is there any other ideas any of you have? I've pretty much just concluded that it is some hardware issue. Since the printer is out of warranty, I'll likely just buy a new one, but I wanted to check to see if anybody on here has dealt with similar issues.
