I replaced a previous ONN printer cartridge (HP 63) yesterday with an identical cartridge and it will not print. I am getting an error message, "Cartridge Problem"

Hi @NYCozMissionary,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand you have trouble with your HP DeskJet 2132 All-in-One Printer showing “Cartridge Problem” after installing an HP 63 cartridge from a 3rd party ONN cartridge:
Recommended Steps
1. Check Cartridge and Printer Contacts
- Turn the printer ON.
- Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridge.
- Make sure the orange protective tape is completely removed.
- Inspect the gold-colored contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer for ink or debris.
- Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Let them dry for 10 minutes, then reinstall the cartridge firmly.
2. Reset the Printer
- With the printer ON, unplug the power cord from the back.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
3. Update Printer Firmware
- Download the latest firmware for your printer from HP:

4. Test with Another Cartridge (If Available)
- If you have another HP 63 cartridge (even an old one), insert it to check if the error clears.
- If the old one works, the new cartridge is likely defective.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
