Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

I should not have to use colored ink when printing black and white on my HP Officejet Pro 8600.  How can I just use black ink to print black and white?

You need to have all 4 working ink cartridges, if any cartridge is empty the printer will stop and will not print.

I know that you need all 4 cartridges. However, when I print black and white I only want to use black ink.
