HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer

I wanted to cancel my ink subscription because i was getting too much ink sent to me.  So, I cancelled it and my system was automatically shut down.  I then resubscribed to try and get back on but that didn't help.  I had to go out and buy ink from staples that didn't have a chip in it to restart my printer.  Now I want to cancel my subscription again forever which I can do but before I do that i want to be able to return 2 full boxes of unused in and get a refund.  I cannot get any help by calling in.  All they do is try and sell me another printer which i do not need as mine works fine.

Has anyone had this problem and how can I get a refund for my unused ink - albeit with chips in it so can't sell on open market.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Perhaps I do not understand your question...

It sounds like you want a refund for unused Instant Ink cartridges after having cancelled your Instant Ink subscription contract?

If yes, then you should return the cartridges to HP -- there is no refund due you for doing that.

What?

HP retains ownership of all Instant Ink cartridges, including those activated as part of the service and the ink sent to you during your active subscription.

Eeek!  What?
