we purchased two HP printers recently, OfficeJet Pro 9703e and 8130e. Both 'drink' up the ink within 2 - 2 1/2 weeks.

Why is there no XL cartridges available for these two models. They are a good machine, but will not be used much

because of the ink not last more than a couple of weeks

@7527181,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

After reviewing the current information, it appears that HP has not yet released XL (high-yield) versions of the HP 923 and HP 936 ink cartridges. The standard HP 923 black cartridge yields approximately 500 pages, and each color cartridge yields about 400 pages.

Third-Party High-Yield Options:

Some third-party manufacturers offer compatible high-yield (XL) cartridges for these models. For example, True Image provides compatible HP 936XL ink cartridges, boasting higher page yields: True Image Tech.

Similarly, Awdaxc offers compatible HP 936XL cartridges suitable for various OfficeJet Pro printers: Walmart.com.

Considerations When Using Third-Party Cartridges:

  • Compatibility: Ensure the third-party cartridge is specifically designed for your printer model to avoid potential issues.  For example, some "XL" products are Not compatible with *e Series Printers and Not compatible with printers which actived for HP+ service.

  • Warranty Implications: Using non-HP cartridges may affect your printer's warranty. It's advisable to review HP's warranty terms before making a decision.

  • Print Quality: Third-party cartridges might not match the print quality and reliability of original HP cartridges.

Recommendations:

  1. HP Instant Ink Subscription: Then there is HP's Instant Ink program, which could offer cost savings and ensure you don't run out of ink.

  2. Monitor HP's Official Store: Regularly check HP's official store for updates on cartridge availability.

Third-party XL cartridges are available, but it's essential to weigh the potential risks and benefits before proceeding.

Kind Regards,
