Hello,
ive a problem with printing. For some reason we get weird stripes during printing (see picture). It’s not static because it can be somewhere else on a different page. Does any of you know what causes the problem and if so, how I can resolve it?
Any help would be much appreciated!
thanks!

Hi @Aanhaai,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Stripes during printing on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdn can be caused by a few different issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Check for Toner Issues:
- Toner Cartridge: Remove and re-install the toner cartridges. Sometimes, a cartridge may not be seated properly.
- Toner Levels: Ensure that the toner levels are adequate and not causing the issue.
Inspect the Drum Unit:
- Drum Maintenance: Check the drum units for any visible damage or toner build-up. Clean the drum if needed, following HP instructions.
Clean the Printer:
- Internal Components: Dust or toner residue on internal components can cause printing issues. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the inside of the printer, avoiding direct contact with sensitive components.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Firmware updates can resolve various issues and improve printer performance.
Print Quality Settings:
- Go to the printer settings on your computer and run a print quality diagnostic or calibration. This can sometimes resolve streaking or banding issues.
Check for Paper Issues:
- Paper Type: Ensure you are using the correct type and size of paper for your printer.
- Paper Path: Check for any paper jams or debris in the paper path.
Replace Drum or Fuser:
- If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, the drum unit or fuser may need to be replaced. These components can wear out over time and affect print quality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
