Product: HP PageWide Pro 477dw Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I got my HP Pagewide MFP 477dw printer, I stocked up on cartridges. Some are older than others, and I have friends using the same "972x" cartridges, and we share. Just had one with exp. date of "Aug 2020" not work for me. Now I am wondering, will a 2022 expiration date work, or not? Will HP trade them out for me? It's bad enough that they police replacement cartridges that are not "genuine HP". But now I am having a problem with the expiration dates!  How do I know without opening the package and trying, which cartridges will not work?
