What happens to printer toner cartridges sent for recycling? I dropped mine off at UPS and then tracked the progress. Tracking just ended with an indication that it was lost! This happens every time I send cartridges for recycling.

Here is the latest tracking number with UPS. See for yourself.

Thank you for trying to answer my question. Sorry if I was not clear. I was asking why the UPS tracking information for returned laser printer cartridges always shows the cartridge as lost in shipment. Why is that?

It is hard to believe that they are actually being recycled if they don't even show as being delivered to anywhere at all.

There was no "private information" in my post. The UPS tracking number contains no information at all about the sender or the recipient. It was a way for anyone who actually is interested in answering the question can see what I am talking about. Silly me for thinking that posting on an hp.com hosted forum would lead to actual useful information about my HP question.

Unless someone wants to post a useful answer with actual knowledge of this problem, I will have to assume that sending toner cartridges back with the enclosed label does not lead them actually to being recycled.
