Hi @JacksonVallie17,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Print Quality Settings:

  • Ensure that you are using the correct print quality settings for photo printing. Typically, higher quality settings produce better results but may use more ink.
  • Adjust the print settings in your printing software (e.g., HP Smart, printer driver settings) to select the appropriate paper type and quality settings.

Paper Type Selection:

  • Make sure you are using the correct type of photo paper recommended for your printer model. Using the wrong paper type can affect print quality and ink distribution.

2. Inspect and Clean Printer Components

Nozzle Check and Cleaning:

  • Run a nozzle check or print head cleaning utility from your printer's maintenance menu (accessible through the printer's control panel or printer software).
  • This helps to ensure that the ink nozzles are clear and functioning properly.

Inspect Ink Cartridges:

  • Check the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly installed and have sufficient ink levels.Replace any cartridges that are low on ink or nearing their expiration date.

3. Calibrate Your Printer:

  • Some printers have a print head alignment utility that helps ensure proper alignment for better print quality.Check your printer's manual or software for instructions on how to perform print head alignment.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

Firmware Update:

  • Visit the HP website and download the latest firmware update for your printer model.Firmware updates often include improvements to print quality and overall performance.Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer.
  • Visit the HP website to download and install the most up-to-date drivers for your operating system.

5. Use Genuine Ink Cartridges:

  • Use genuine ink cartridges recommended for your printer model.Generic or refilled cartridges may not provide the same quality or performance as genuine cartridges.

6. Check Paper Handling:

  • Ensure that the photo paper is loaded correctly and aligned properly in the paper tray.Improper paper alignment can cause skewed prints or poor ink distribution.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
