HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bought a 9015e last month and was generally satisfied until I tried to print photos.  I noticed thin black or white lines about every inch from top to bottom (in portrait orientation).  Spent hours on the phone with tech support running "clean printheads" and other maintenance.  I received replacement ink cartridges and then a replacement printhead, but neither solved the problem.  I demanded a replacement printer and got one, less the printhead and ink cartridges, and was dismayed to see the problem is still present.  Thinking it's time to switch to another brand, but willing to try one or two more fixes.  Thanks.

As suggested by the previous message thread called "Horizontal lines on printed photos," I selected "more settings" and the HP Smart Printing pop-up appeared and I selected "Max DPI."  And the lines disappeared!  Wish I or tech support found this earlier--many hours, trees, and ink droplets could have been saved.

Here's another twist on this problem.  I copied a jpg file onto a thumb drive, plugged it into the printer, and was surprised to see my photo print without the lines.  But I'm continuing to get the lines when printing via wi-fi from two different computers.  Thought maybe it was some kind of interference, so I moved the printer 30-40 feet from its usual location and that made no difference.  Haven't noticed anything else unusual about other activities involving wi-fi.  Would really appreciate any hints on how to find the source of this problem, whether it's the printer, router, or extraterrestial.  Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's restore the network settings:

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ). 2. Touch Network Setup. 3. Touch Restore Network Settings. A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored.

Once done, connect the Printer to the Wi-Fi.

Let me know if this helps.

Betty0610,

Followed your instructions, but sorry to say it made no difference.  Thought that maybe the printer was picking up noise from 4 LED floodlights in the ceiling, but turning those off made no difference either.

Maybe I mentioned it earlier, but I get the lines of the photos when printing from a Windows desktop, Windows laptop, and Android phone.

Thanks for trying.

Can you escalate this issue to the top level and have someone contact me who can solve this problem?  Thanks.

If you just copy from the Printer, a photo, does the issue still occur?

I've talked with many HP support people, but you are the first to ask that question.  The answer is no, the copy of a photo that I made came out just fine.  Hope that helps to track down the source of the problem.

Neither a printer firmware update nor replacement of the three color ink cartridges resolved this issue.
