Hi @happy5852,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Please go through this document to understand the security chips installed on the cartridges: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05310148

I understand how frustrating it must be to see your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 suddenly display a message about not supporting continuous ink, especially after recently installing new ink. This issue could be due to a recent firmware update that may have affected how the printer recognizes cartridges, or it might be detecting non-HP ink cartridges, which it sometimes flags as "continuous ink systems."

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • HP often releases firmware updates that can improve compatibility or, in some cases, restrict the use of non-HP cartridges.
  • Visit HP's support site to download any available updates for your model, or check the HP Smart app to see if a firmware update is pending.

Use Original HP Cartridges:

  • HP printers sometimes reject non-HP or refilled cartridges as a "continuous ink system," as they aren’t part of HP’s design.
  • Confirm that you are using genuine HP cartridges, and if not, try replacing the cartridges with genuine HP ones to see if this resolves the issue.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the Printer and disconnect it from the power source. Wait about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the printer and turn it back on. This can sometimes clear temporary glitches.

Disable Cartridge Protection:

  • Go to Settings on the printer’s touchscreen, look for HP Cartridge Protection, and disable it if it’s enabled. This might allow the printer to recognize the current cartridges.

If the issue persists despite using genuine cartridges, contact HP Phone Support,

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
