Why am I unable to print on the full 4x6 page?

Despite the poor reviews, I got the Deskjet 2755e. It has some quirks, but otherwise, I haven't had a huge issue with it.

My main problem is that I put in 4x6 picture paper and it doesn't fit on the full paper? It will print out what looks a little like a polaroid (three short margins paired with a longer margin at the bottom of the page)? Does anyone know why this happens and if there's any way to fix it? I want to print a full 4x6 not some odd 3.75x5.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

The printer you purchased requires a larger margin along the bottom edge of the paper (1/2 inch).

Print Margin Bottom (A4)	12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)	3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)	3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)	3 mm

"Fat margin on one side??" Just does - no way to "get around" the restrictions.

The printer does not support borderless printing.

Some printers do support even borders and perhaps borderless printing. 

Some of the top-of-line OfficeJet Pro models support small margins, borderless, and automatic 2-sided scanning.

The less expensive DeskJet printers might indeed require the larger margin and do not support borderless.

In combination, the limitations can make it look like the printer is not working correctly.

Add to that:  HP Smart Mobile is not quite as robust as the versions of the application used in PC (Windows) or MacOS.

What to do?

Using HP Smart Mobile?

Try using the Transform > Resize / Move feature to size the print to the best the application can provide.

Reminder

"Fill Page" is not available on printers that do not support borderless.

Caveat, though not relevant here:  Some printers restrict paper size / type with Borderless.
