Hi @Leannept85,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2710 All-In-One Printer where it turns photos to black and white and then prints blank pages. This can be a frustrating problem, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
- Check the Printing Settings: Make sure that your printer settings are configured correctly. Open the print dialog on your computer and ensure that the printer settings are set to color printing, not grayscale or black and white.
- Inspect the Photo File: Ensure that the photo file you're trying to print is indeed in color. Open the photo on your computer and confirm that it displays in color.
- Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. Visit the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for and install the latest printer drivers for your HP DeskJet 2710.
- Check the Paper and Ink Cartridges: Ensure that you're using the correct type of paper for color printing, and that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and not expired. Check the contacts and nozzles of the ink cartridges for any clogs or issues.
- Perform a Printer Self-Test: Most printers have a self-test or diagnostic function. You can usually access this from the printer's control panel. Run a self-test to check if the printer itself is functioning properly. Consult your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to do this.
- Clean Print Heads: Sometimes, the print heads can get clogged, which may result in poor print quality. Most printers have a cleaning utility that you can use to clean the print heads. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- Restart or Reset the Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. This can sometimes clear minor issues. If your printer has a reset function, consider performing a factory reset if other methods fail.
Since you have an ink subscription, it's likely not an ink level issue, as you mentioned. However, ensuring that you have sufficient color ink is still important, as low or empty color ink cartridges can also cause this problem
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
