Hi @Darcy2022,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
There could be a few reasons why your HP OfficeJet Pro 8022 printer is only printing in black, even when the ink cartridges are full.
- Settings Issue: Check your printer settings to ensure that color printing is enabled. Sometimes, printers default to grayscale or black-and-white printing to save ink, so you may need to adjust the settings to allow for color printing.
- Blocked Print Head: The color print head nozzles may be clogged or blocked, preventing the ink from flowing properly. You can try running a print head cleaning cycle from your printer's maintenance menu to see if it resolves the issue.
- Ink Cartridge Issue: Although the cartridges may be full, there could be an issue with one or more of them. Try removing and reseating the color ink cartridges to ensure they are properly installed. Additionally, check for any error messages on the printer display that may indicate a problem with the cartridges.
- Driver or Software Issue: Sometimes, outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause printing issues. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer model, and consider reinstalling or updating the printer software if necessary.
- Hardware Problem: If none of the above solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with the printer itself, such as a faulty print head or circuitry.
By troubleshooting these potential causes, you should be able to determine why your printer is only printing in black and resolve the issue accordingly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
