HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My Officejet Pro 8210 stopped printing in color. Just black and some gray scale. MS Office products, like Office and Excel.

Will printer status reports and quality reports using color. I have changed all my cartridges. Other of my HP injets print properly. I will try to replace drivers. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi @JXXXXP1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet Pro 8210 is not printing in color despite changing cartridges and other HP inkjets working properly, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take. Here are some suggestions.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Make sure that the color settings in the printer preferences or settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, the default setting might be set to black and white.
  • Open the printer properties on your computer, and ensure that color printing is enabled.

Update Drivers:

  • As you mentioned, updating or reinstalling the printer drivers is a good step. Download the latest drivers from the official HP website that are compatible with your operating system.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page from the printer to determine if the issue is with the printer hardware or with the computer/software.

Check Application Settings:

  • Ensure that the application you are using (e.g., MS Office, Excel) is set to print in color. Check the print settings within the application to verify color printing is selected.

Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Use the built-in printer troubleshooter in your operating system to identify and resolve any issues. This tool can automatically detect and fix printing problems.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can address various issues, including printing problems.

Check Cartridges and Printhead:

  • Ensure that the color cartridges are installed correctly, and there is no protective tape or seal obstructing the cartridge nozzles.
  • Run a printhead cleaning utility to clean the printhead nozzles. This can be done through the printer software on your computer.

Color Calibration:

  • Some printers have a color calibration option. Check your printer's manual or settings to see if there is a calibration option, and run it if necessary.

Reset Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. Power it on and check if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
