Microsoft Windows 11

My 3700 has quit. I have unopened inks #65 supplied from instant ink. Can I use these in my new 3755e that comes with #67? Will it void the warranty? They appear to be about equal and interchangeable and the #65 quality is good enough.

Hi @Ray_Brea,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

No, using #65 ink in an HP DeskJet 3755e printer, which is designed for #67 ink cartridges, is not recommended and could lead to issues:

Compatibility: The DeskJet 3755e is designed to work with #67 cartridges. While #65 and #67 cartridges may seem similar, they have different chip configurations and firmware settings. Using an incompatible cartridge will likely result in error messages or a refusal by the printer to accept the cartridge.

Warranty Concerns: Using non-designated cartridges, even HP-branded ones, does not automatically void the printer warranty. However, any damage caused by using incompatible cartridges may not be covered under warranty. HP's warranty terms specify that the printer must be used as intended with compatible supplies.

Instant Ink Cartridges: If your #65 ink cartridges were supplied through HP's Instant Ink program, they are specifically programmed for the printer associated with that subscription. They will not work in a different printer, even if the cartridge type matches.

So what do I do with excess 65s sent via the Instant Ink program?

Hi @Ray_Brea,

If you have excess ink sent by the program which are not going to be in use on your printer.

Kindly refer to the below link on how to recycle ink cartridges and let me know if that resolves the issue.
