Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

No changes, won't print black except the Print Quality Diagnostic page prints but the Black box is empty( no shaded stripes) I've done all steps except pulling head.

It's recommended to uninstall previous printer driver and software.

Should I try the cleaning/soaking  method or are you thinking the head is shot. I'm not very tech smart.

If the black box on the diagnostic test page is empty you the soaking/cleaning will not help, it's probably time for a new printer.

When I get the new printer do I remove all the HP files before installing new (HP) printer? I use the fax and the the scan(to computer) besides the print function. I think I had a heck of a time getting everything to consistently work.  Thanks for your replies.
