My printer can print both color and black. I've ran a test page and it came out fine. However, whenever I try and print colored images that have black in them, it won't print properly. Just color is fine, just black is fine. But the two won't mix. Any color images with black in them come out incredibly weird. I've only recently had this issue.

@Nxnnxnxnx, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer that won't print in black with color!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I see you’re running into a pretty odd issue with your printer—color prints fine, black prints fine, but when they’re together, things go haywire. I totally get how frustrating that must be, especially since your test page came out fine. Let’s try to sort this out!
A few things to check:
Driver & Software Updates – If this started recently, there might be an update needed. Try reinstalling the printer driver from HP official site.
Color Management Settings – Sometimes, the printer driver settings can affect how colors mix. Check your printer preferences (in Devices & Printers) and make sure it's set to "automatic" or "default" for color management.
Print Quality Settings – If it’s set to "draft" or "economy mode," the printer might not be blending black properly with color. Try setting it to “Best” or “Normal.”
Ink Cartridges & Nozzle Check – Even if your test page looks fine, the black ink might not be layering correctly over color. Run a printhead cleaning from the printer’s maintenance menu and print a diagnostic page to check ink distribution.
Try a Different File or App – If this is happening with a specific document or program, try printing from a different one. Sometimes, color profiles can act up depending on the software.
If none of these help, let me know what printer model you’re using, and I’ll dig deeper for you! 😊
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
