Hi @Kizer1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025-e printer continues to display a "damaged cartridge" message for the yellow cartridge despite replacing it with new ones, the issue could be related to the printer itself rather than the cartridges. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this problem:

1. Check Cartridge Compatibility

Ensure that the replacement cartridges are compatible with your printer model. Genuine HP cartridges designed for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025-e should be used.

2. Inspect the Cartridge and Cartridge Slot

  • Turn off the Printer: Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the Cartridges: Carefully remove the yellow cartridge.
  • Inspect the Cartridge: Check the cartridge for any visible damage or ink leakage. Ensure that the protective tape on the new cartridge has been removed.
  • Inspect the Cartridge Slot: Look inside the cartridge slot for any obstructions, debris, or ink buildup. Gently clean the slot with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.

3. Clean the Electrical Contacts

  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water or isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge.
  • Clean Printer Contacts: Similarly, clean the electrical contacts inside the printer where the cartridge connects.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and power it on.
  • Reset Procedure: Sometimes, performing a semi-full reset (as described earlier) can help clear persistent errors.

5. Update or Reinstall Firmware

  • Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Check the HP Support website for any new firmware releases and install them if available.
  • Reinstall Firmware: If the issue started after a firmware update, reinstalling or reverting to an earlier version (if possible) might help.

6. Test with Another Printer

  • Test Cartridge: If you have access to another compatible printer, try installing the yellow cartridge in that printer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the cartridge is indeed faulty or if the problem lies with your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
