Color combination doesnot look correct. When I did a print test it shows yellow color is not printing. I tried cleaning print heads

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track. 

If the yellow color is not printing and the color combination looks incorrect, even after cleaning the printheads, please follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Ink Levels

Make sure the yellow ink tank has sufficient ink. If it's low or empty, refill it using genuine HP ink.

 

Print a Diagnostic Page

This helps confirm if the issue is with the yellow ink only.

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Resume/Cancel button (the triangle inside a circle) for 3 seconds to print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page.
  • Check if the yellow color is missing or faded.

Clean the Printhead (Again)

Sometimes multiple cleanings are needed.

  • Open the HP Smart App or HP Printer Assistant on your PC.
  • Go to Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Run the cleaning cycle up to 2–3 times, allowing a few minutes between each cycle.

Manually Clean the Printhead

If automatic cleaning doesn’t help, try manual cleaning:


Align the Printhead

After cleaning, align the printhead to ensure proper color mixing.

  • Use the HP Smart App or printer software to run Align Printhead under Printer Maintenance.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause print quality issues.

If yellow still doesn’t print after all the above steps, the printhead may be clogged beyond recovery or damaged. In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
