HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One

Yellow color is printing in place of Green (if i print green leaves, yellow leaves color is printed) and when i print black & while, some light cream color prints.

Ink levels of black and colors are fine.

What should i do.

Let me know if someone has solution.

Thank you

Hi @tprashanth57,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-In-One printer prints yellow instead of green and produces a light cream color instead of black and white, it indicates a potential issue with the color mixing or printhead alignment.

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Printhead Cleaning

Over time, printheads can become clogged or dirty, leading to incorrect color output. Use the printer's built-in cleaning function to clean the printheads.

  • Access the Printer Software: Open the HP Smart app or the HP printer software installed on your computer.
  • Locate the Printhead Cleaning Option: Navigate to the 'Maintenance' or 'Tools' section.
  • Run the Printhead Cleaning Cycle: Follow the on-screen instructions to clean the printheads.

2. Align the Printheads

Misaligned printheads can also cause color inaccuracies.

  • Access the Printer Software: As above, open the HP Smart app or the printer software.
  • Find the Printhead Alignment Option: Usually found in the 'Maintenance' or 'Tools' section.
  • Run the Alignment Process: Follow the instructions to align the printheads.

3. Check and Clean the Ink Cartridges

Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and free of obstructions.

  • Turn Off the Printer: Unplug it to avoid any electrical issues.
  • Open the Printer: Access the ink cartridges.
  • Remove and Inspect the Cartridges: Take out the color and black ink cartridges and inspect them for any leaks or clogs.
  • Clean the Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Software Update the firmware on an HP printer

Outdated firmware or software can cause unexpected printing issues.

5. Print a Test Page

Print a test page to determine if the issue persists.

  • Access the Printer Software: Open the HP Smart app or printer software.
  • Print a Test Page: This option is usually found in the 'Maintenance' or 'Tools' section.

6. Check the Color Settings

Ensure that the color settings on your printer and computer are correct.

  • Open the Print Dialog: When you print a document, go to the print settings.
  • Check the Color Options: Make sure the color is set to print in color and not grayscale or another incorrect setting.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

I tried the diagnostic tools from hp app.

Finally the alignment of printh head successfully completed step one and printed a page. But when the second step was to scan the printed page. Its showing alignment failed.

Can it be with software? I did not get how to update it.

Thank you.
