When printing things with color, it appears to be faded.   Then I noticed that the color yellow is missing.  I have checked my fluid levels and they are all at least half full.  I have used the virtual agent and that is useless.  I have turned machine off for 30+ seconds and then back on, nothing works.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that your printer is not printing in yellow, and I am glad to assist you.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

  • On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup .
  • Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.

If you do not see the yellow ink, follow the steps to fix the issue:-

Clean the printheads

  • On the printer control panel, swipe left, and then touch Setup .
  • Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.
  • A Cleaning cartridges message displays, and the printer prints a Print Quality Diagnostic Page.
  • Examine the page.
  • If Test Pattern 2 is free of defects, continue to the next step.
  • If Test Pattern 2 still has defects, touch Yes to proceed to the second-level cleaning.
