I have a 7730 printer since a few months, other then software problems, unreachable printer, non  functioning wireless connection and HP spending 4 hours not being ble to restore the connection to my printer, the printer is working fine.

I understood that two weeks ago a firmware update was pushed.

I use 3rd party cartridges no roblem till then. the printer blocked the cartridges and it is impossible to print since (or do anything via the display).

I am a free lancer this happend in the weekend to me. So no way to get the HP cartridges quick from HP nor is there support other then a sales AI that tells me not to worry.

I am not sure why HP is blocking 3rd party cartridges, starting last week as it was deemed illegal in the netherlands to block 3rd parties and I have replace (colour) cartridges before without a problem. That weekend the black HP cartridge was empty and HP decided it was enough with printing for me.

I wish I had not set the updates to automatic as I would heave been able to cope with the problem during the weekend.

I have a HP laptop (actually 2) and an HP printers and have problems like never before working with them I wil think twice before spending money on HP products again

I understand that you are unable to use 3rd party cartridges. I'd like to help!

 

This is a Dynamic security-enabled printer. The Firmware Update may prevent supplies with non-HP chips or circuitry from working.

 

Note: For printers manufactured prior to December 1, 2016, dynamic security will not be enabled by the firmware. Please note that HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP cartridges.

thanks for the answer as support does not seem to want me prining without sending all my money to them.

The printer is a disaster, I had to reset it to factory setting wit instrucitons fom the internet. that works.  I have blokked the printer from the internet . Now I can use the printer as an USB attached printer. I I try and use the printer over the network I have to reinstall it every time I want to use it as the "smart" prining program can never find it after the install.

As a Freelancer I  thought it was a good idea to.

I went for HP laptop and printer as I thought they would have my back but apparently I was leaning on experiences from long ago.

in short I have given up and am looking for another printer when the ink runs out
