Hi @davechap
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 2700e is showing an error code E0 after fitting a new color cartridge, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure that the cartridge you installed is compatible with your printer model. Double-check the packaging or specifications.
2. Remove and Reseat the Cartridge:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the new cartridge and check for any protective tape or packaging that might still be on it.
- Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.
3. Reset the Printer:
- With the printer powered on, unplug it from the power source.
- Wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
4. Check for Obstructions:
- Open the printer cover and check for any debris or obstructions in the cartridge area that might be blocking the movement.
5. Inspect the Print Head:
- Check the print head for any clogs or dried ink. Clean the print head with a soft, lint-free cloth if necessary.
6. Update Firmware:
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can do this through the HP Smart app or the HP support website.
7. Try a Different Cartridge:
- If possible, try installing a different color cartridge (preferably one that you know works) to see if the issue is with the cartridge itself.
8. Check Printer Status:
- Make sure there are no other error messages on the printer display that might indicate a different issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
