Hi @sclizer,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've replaced the colored ink cartridges in your HP Officejet Pro 6975 and are experiencing issues with the blue ink not printing, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem.
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure that the new blue ink cartridge has sufficient ink. Most printers, including HP Officejet models, provide an option to check the ink levels through the printer software or control panel. Ensure that the blue ink cartridge is not empty or low.
- Run Print Head Cleaning: Print head issues can often cause printing problems. Use the printer's software or control panel to run a print head cleaning cycle. This can help remove any dried or clogged ink from the print head nozzles.
- Align the Print Heads: Printer software usually includes an option for aligning the print heads. This ensures that the nozzles are correctly positioned for optimal printing. Run the print head alignment process through the printer's software.
- Check for Air Bubbles: Sometimes air bubbles can get trapped in the ink cartridge, preventing proper ink flow. You can try gently tapping the ink cartridge on a solid surface to dislodge any air bubbles. Additionally, some printers have a priming function to remove air from the ink lines.
- Verify Cartridge Installation: Double-check that the blue ink cartridge is correctly installed. Ensure that it's securely snapped into place and that there are no obstructions.
- Print a Test Page: Print a test page to check if the issue persists. This can be done through the printer software or control panel. If the blue ink still doesn't appear, there may be a more significant issue.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your HP Officejet Pro 6975.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
