My HP LaserJet M209dw  printer ran out of ink so I removed the cartridge and bought a new one exactly  like it.  When I tried to insert it, it won't "click" into place.  I am sure of this because the lid cannot close.  Just to check, I tried to reinsert the original cartridge and it won't click all the way in either.  I can't figure out what is preventing it from going in.

Thanks for the offer to help, Valsimot. I spent time researching the problem and found out it won't close because the printer cannot upload the driver it needs to operate.  The message I got from the phone AI operator is that my barely 3 year old printer only has a 1-year warranty and therefore is not eligible to download the new driver required to run it.  In other words, it is a throw-away unit (like a plastic fork only more toxic) and should be taken to the place where I bought it and pay them to dispose of it. I would suggest everyone reading this BEWARE of HP and their rip-off way of making printers regularly obsolete by issuing incompatible new drivers consumers are barred from uploading.

Closing the toner access door has nothing with the printer driver, don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Be smart and think about it what printer driver update has with mechanical door closing?
