Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

I'm replacing the black ink cartridge on my HP Office Jet Pro 8720 All-in-One printer with a new one - the same ones I have always used (this is the other half of the Costco package of HP 952XL cartridges) -  andI received the following error message:

"The indicated cartridge is an older generation cartridge that does not work in your printer. It can still be used with some older printer models.

If you do not own an older printer model and your cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge, contact HP Support for more information."

I'm totally unable to print here and I understand that the cartridge is expired but common!? How can it be an older generation? I just took the EXACT SAME cartridge out of the printer.

 

Please help - I have 4 kids here and 2 adults that need to print.

HP Recommended

Check the expiration date on the cartridge on a white label, if expired you will not be able to use that cartridge.
