I have a hp deskjet 4100e - I added to new hp cartridges color 67 and black 67. I loade both and i am getting cartridge failure. I have taken them out - put them back in. didn't work. i removed the color ink - that removed the error - but as soon as i put the color in back the error came back. not sure why.
i have shut both my dell lap top and printer done complete and that didn't work.
I cannot get the black ink to work alone - I am at a lose.
Other than to uninstall and reinstall the hp deskstop.
Anyone have any ideas - help - thank you very much

Hi @jmwaters321
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, but here are a few more you can try:
- Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Turn off your printer and remove the cartridges. Clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Ensure they are dry before reinserting the cartridges.
- Reset the Printer: Unplug the power cord from the printer while it is still on, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. This can sometimes reset the printer and clear error messages.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Deskjet 4100e. Sometimes updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues with cartridges. Software and Drivers for HP DeskJet 4100e All-in-One series
- Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridges you're using are compatible with your HP Deskjet 4100e. Using incompatible cartridges can cause errors.
- Check for Protective Tape: Make sure that you have removed any protective tape or packaging from the new cartridges before installing them.
- Try a Different Cartridge: If you have access to another set of cartridges (perhaps from a friend or another printer), try installing those to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the cartridges themselves or the printer.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
