Sorry for the confusion -- I did not mean to hide behind too many words.

If "these cartridges" refer to ink cartridges that you have and these cartridges do not have an embedded HP chip as required by the Dynamic Security,

then

Yes, you are correct -- I am saying that.

According to the requirement of the built-in dynamic security,

You cannot use these non-HP-chipped cartridges in this printer series.

We do get sneers and boos sometimes when we venture to answer this question.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Cartridge Policy is available on at least some HP LaserJet printers.

Cartridge Protection is more common and is available for many / most printers, including this printer series.

If your intent is to remove the printer's dependence (requirement) for HP-Chipped ink cartridges, the printer does not support what you want.

This printer series is protected by embedded Dynamic Security.

User Guide - HP ENVY Inspire 7200e series - HP ENVY Inspire 7900e series

Section  Dynamic security enabled printers Page 39

Not all ink suppliers comply with the requirement -- Ask your supplier if they use genuine HP chipped cartridges in their refill / re-manufacture process.

======================================

EWS - Cartridge Protection

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Supplies > Supply Settings > Cartridge Protection = OFF or ON

OR

Alternate format EWS

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Supplies > tab Supply Settings > Cartridge Protection = OFF or ON

The Cartridge Protection feature permanently protects cartridges for use in only one fleet of products or product to help prevent theft.

If, after cartridges have been protected, they are moved to a device outside the fleet (fleet based) or to a different printer (printer based), these cartridges will be identified as protected and will have to be replaced to continue printing.

Note:

When you turn on this feature, all cartridges installed in the printer will be protected. However, if you turn off this feature again, these cartridges will remain protected. Only cartridges installed afterwards will not have cartridge protection enabled.
