Hi,
I would greatly appreciate any advice you wish to share to help me solve the following issue. I have used several BCYM toner cartridges from a non-HP manufacturer for about three years without any difficulty. Yesterday when I replaced the black toner cartridge, the message shown below appeared. I tried restarting the printer, using 4 new cartridges from a different non-HP manufacturer, and running the HP printhead cleaning routine, all without success. I suspect that the latest firmware update is the root cause. Is there a workaround for this problem? I have tried contacting the cartridge manufactures but have not been able to find their contact information.
Thank you,
Justin Smith

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting non HP ink cartridge, I am glad to assist you.
The indicated cartridges have been blocked by the printer firmware because they contain a non-HP chip or non-HP circuitry. This printer is intended to work only with new or reused cartridges that have new or reused HP chips or circuitry.
Replace the indicated cartridges to continue printing
