I need assistance with a regionalization reset for my HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer.
Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Product Number: G5J38A
The printer is currently being identified by HP Support as Latinoamérica (LA / LATAM), but I need to use the printer in USA region. I bought cartridges in Los Angeles
I am experiencing an ink cartridge compatibility issue related to the printer's region.
The printer is connected to my Windows 11 PC via USB, and I have HP Smart and the HP printer software installed.
Could you please assist me with the regionalization reset so that the printer can be used with cartridges for South Korea?
I can provide the serial number and any other required information through private message if needed.
Thank you.

Hi @SARO05,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
We understand that the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 is set for the Latin America region and is not accepting the cartridges purchased for another region.
Your post mentions both the United States and South Korea. Please confirm:
- The country where the printer was purchased
- The country where the printer is currently located
- Whether you want the printer changed to the US or South Korea region
- The cartridge numbers for the current and new regions
- Whether you have cartridges available for both regions
- Whether the new-region cartridges are unused
- The exact cartridge error displayed
- Whether you have a USB printer cable available
If a USB cable is unavailable, please confirm whether the printer and Windows 11 computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Please use the HP app on Windows 11, as it replaces HP Smart on supported devices.
Once we receive these details, we can help you with the regionalization reset.
Take care and have an amazing day!
I'm an HP Employee.
