I have office jet pro 8028 and it has stopped printing cyan. I have installed three new cartridges and cleaned and aligned the heads numerous times with no change. I have updated drivers and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer a few times with no change. I could use any suggestions that might help.

Hi @inkmaster2p ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-In-One Printer isn't printing cyan despite changing cartridges and performing various troubleshooting steps, it typically indicates a problem that might be a bit more complex. Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Printhead Cleaning:
- Perform a more thorough printhead cleaning via the printer software. Sometimes multiple cleanings are required.
- Go to your printer’s control panel and select the cleaning option (you might need to run this several times).
2. Manual Printhead Cleaning:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the printer to access the printhead.
- Remove the printhead carefully (consult your printer manual for specific instructions).
- Clean the printhead with distilled water and a lint-free cloth. Avoid using tap water or alcohol.
- Let the printhead dry completely before reinserting it.
3. Firmware Update: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve printing issues.
- You can check for firmware updates on the HP website or through the HP Smart app.
4. Check the Ink Cartridge:
- Even though you have installed new cartridges, ensure that the protective tape on the cartridge's copper contact and vent is completely removed.
- Check for any clogging or blockages in the cartridge vent. You can use a pin to gently clear any blockages.
5. Run Diagnostic Tools:
- HP provides diagnostic tools that can sometimes identify and fix issues with your printer. You can download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP support website and run it to check for issues.
6. Reset the Printer:
- Resetting the printer can sometimes clear any errors or issues.
- To reset, turn the printer on and unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging the power cord back in and turning on the printer.
7. Check the Ink Levels:
- Ensure that the ink levels are sufficient. Sometimes, the ink level sensor might not detect low ink properly.
Additional Tips:
- Always use genuine HP cartridges, as third-party or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause issues.
- Ensure the printer is placed in a well-ventilated area, and avoid areas with high humidity or dust, which can affect printhead performance.
