Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

I have purchased 2 cyan cartridges from Amazon and both come up with a defective cartridge error.  If i put the original cartridge in the problem disappears.  I have followed all the HP directed troubleshooting and still gives the error.  any thoughts?

HP Recommended

additional information.  cartridge manufactured in Malaysia dated 2022/02/15.  I believe this was part of a product recall a few years back.  investigating
