I just moved from US to France.  I had US instant ink and 2 printers on my US account.    When I moved and bought a new printer in France, I was able to connect it to HP Smart, but it does not let me subscribe to Instant Ink in France.  So (stupidly) I connected a different email to the main HP email, and set it to be based in France.  However HP Smart still defaults to US when I try to buy ink.  SO I asked HP Privacy to delete the main US ID which is now complete.  However the remaining ID which is an HP account in France, still defaults on HP Smart to ordering instant ink from the US and then gives an error.   I just want a French HP Account, and don't want to create a new ID unless absolutely necessary.  So I can't subscribe to instant ink in France

Hi @Pheer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Create a New HP Account

  • To correctly set up an Instant Ink subscription in France, you should create a new HP account based in France.
  • Go to the HP Smart website and create a new account using your preferred email address and set the region to France.

Remove US-Based Printers from Your Old Account

  • Sign in to your US-based HP account.
  • Remove any subscribed printers from your Instant Ink account to avoid confusion or conflicts.

Enroll Your New Printer

  • Use the newly created French-based HP account to enroll your new printer.
  • Access HP Instant Ink France and follow the steps to sign up for the Instant Ink subscription.

Set Up Web Services

  • Ensure that Web Services are enabled on your printer. This is necessary for enrolling in Instant Ink.
  • Go to HP Instant Ink settings for detailed instructions on enabling Web Services.

Resolve Account Region Issues

  • If the HP Smart app defaults to the US, sign out from your account and sign back in using the new France-based account credentials.

if the issue still persists then it requires a regional rest.

I hope this helps.
