HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

Hello,
Apparently there is a way to disable the cartridge strategy or cartridge security to be able to use non HP cartridges.

Unfortunately, I can't find this option on the printer and in the EWS.

I only have the cartridge protection option which is already disabled.

Can you help me? I bought several non HP cartridges that worked until recently, I hope I can still use them.

Thank you!

Hi @gbfr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I am afraid there are any options as such, However, follow these steps below if you have an option and see how it goes.

Follow these steps to disable the Cartridge Policy feature:

Start Web Jetadmin.

In the Device Management pane, select the printers (or printer group) to configure.

In the bottom navigation pane, select Config, and then select Supplies.

In the Cartridge Policy section, select Off.

Click Apply.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
