Hi @paattorn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Ink Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the new ink cartridge is compatible with your HP ENVY 4520 printer. Refer to the printer manual for the correct cartridge model.

Verify Installation:

  • Make sure the new ink cartridge is properly installed. Open the ink cartridge access door and check if the cartridges are securely seated.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Wait for about 10 seconds.
  • Turn the printer back on. This can help reset the printer settings.

Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and wait until the carriage stops moving.
  • Remove the new ink cartridge.
  • Clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert the ink cartridge and close the access door.

Run a Printer Diagnostic:

  • Use the printer's diagnostic tool to check for any errors or issues with the ink cartridges. Access it via the printer's control panel or through the HP Smart app.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Make sure that the print settings specify color printing. You can check and change these settings from the print dialog box when you send a print job.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer is running the latest firmware. Visit the HP support website to download and install any available firmware updates.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page to check the quality of color printing. This option is usually available in the printer's control panel or settings menu.

I hope this helps.
