Have tried different (previously working) cartridges, have also replaced both ink cartridges with new cartridges, and also cleaned cartridge ports. Have also powered printer off and back on. Still get same error message.

Hi @batchelk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are encountering the "left ink cartridge incompatible" error message on your HP OfficeJet 6310 All-in-One. There are several steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Double-Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure the ink cartridges are compatible with your HP OfficeJet 6310. Which cartridges work with my HP printer? | HP® Support.

Install Cartridges Correctly: Make sure the cartridges are installed properly:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.

  • Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges into their respective slots, ensuring they are firmly seated.

Reset the Printer: Completely power off the printer, unplug it, and wait for about 30 seconds before reconnecting and turning it on again.

Check for Obstructions: Inspect the cartridge cradle and surrounding area for any obstructions or debris. Clear any jams if present.

Update Printer Firmware: Verify that the printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
