@puntonovanta, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Hey, no worries about your English – it’s perfectly clear! I understand the issue you're facing with your HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 printer.

Power Issue or Faulty Power Supply:

Check the power connection: Make sure the printer is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Sometimes, if there’s no power supply, the carriage won’t move, and the LED won’t light up.

Unplug and restart: Try turning off the printer, unplugging it for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in. This can reset the printer’s internal systems.

Carriage Jam or Blockage:

Look for obstructions: Sometimes, a piece of paper or other debris can block the printer carriage from moving. Open the printer’s cover and carefully inspect the area for anything that might be obstructing the movement.

Check the carriage path: See if the carriage is stuck or misaligned in any way.

Ink Cartridge Lock Mechanism:

On some printers, there’s a locking mechanism that holds the ink cartridges in place. If this mechanism has jammed or isn’t releasing properly, the carriage might not move. Ensure the ink cartridge slots are not blocked or jammed.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
