@KRAMler21, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Yellow Ink Cartridge Issues on HP ENVY 5055!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP ENVY 5055 printer is not printing the yellow color even though the HP Smart app indicates that the cartridge is not empty, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Cartridge Status:
- Ensure that the yellow ink cartridge is properly installed in your printer. Remove it and then reinsert it to confirm it's seated correctly.
- Check for any protective tapes or packaging that might still be attached to the cartridge.
Run Printhead Cleaning:
- Access the printer's maintenance tools via the HP Smart app or directly from the printer's control panel.
- Select the option to clean the printhead. You might need to run this process a couple of times.
Align and Calibrate Cartridges:
- Align the cartridges to ensure accurate color distribution. This can usually be done through the printer settings interface or via the HP Smart app.
Print a Test Page:
- After cleaning and aligning, print a test page to check if the yellow ink issue persists.
Check for Software Updates:
- Ensure that your printer is using the latest firmware. Check for updates in the HP Smart app or on the HP Support website.
Replace the Cartridge:
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible the cartridge is faulty. Consider replacing the yellow ink cartridge with a new one.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a minute, and then power it back on.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
