genuine hp 952xl office jet 8715 "older generation cartridridge" wont work

I have same problem I see a lot of others have.  genuine hp cartridge f6u10a warranty ends 2020/06.  I get message saying older generation cartridge wont work.  I see on line suggestions to revery to old firmware but reluctant to download files from unknown sources.  Would appreciate some guidance.

• Are you sure this is an HP genuine ink cartridge?
• Validate this by clicking here - HP Anti-Counterfeit and Fraud (ACF) Program

If this is a genuine HP ink cartridge, I would need some information related to the ink cartridges and the printer which cannot be shared on a public post for security reasons.
