Hi @Ann5733,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-In-One Printer is printing blank pages and prompting you to align the printer heads, you may need to perform a printhead alignment to resolve the issue. Here are the general steps to align the printheads on an HP OfficeJet 5255.

Load Paper:

  • Make sure your printer has plain, white paper loaded in the input tray.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges in your printer have sufficient ink. Replace any empty or low cartridges.

Printer Display:

  • On the printer control panel, locate the display screen.

Access Printer Toolbox:

  • Press the "Setup" button (wrench icon) on the control panel.

Printhead Alignment:

  • Navigate to the "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools" option. Look for an option related to "Printhead Alignment" or "Align Printer." Select it.

Follow on-screen Instructions:

  • The printer will guide you through the alignment process. This usually involves printing an alignment page.

Scan Alignment Page:

  • Once the alignment page prints, place it face down on the scanner glass. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the page.

Complete Alignment:

  • After scanning, the printer will complete the alignment process. This may take a few minutes.

Test Print:

  • Print a test page to check if the issue is resolved. If the print quality is still poor, you may need to perform additional troubleshooting.

If you're having trouble finding specific options on the control panel, refer to your printer's manual or documentation for detailed instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
