Hi @Redhunie ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP DeskJet 4133e All-In-One Printer is displaying an error related to the ink cartridge, and you believe the cartridge is malfunctioning, here are the steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue,

1. Troubleshooting Steps

a. Remove and Reinsert the Cartridge

  1. Turn on the printer and open the ink cartridge access door.
  2. Remove the cartridge that is causing the error.
  3. Check for any protective tape or packaging that might still be on the cartridge and remove it.
  4. Reinsert the cartridge firmly into the slot and close the ink cartridge access door.
  5. Restart the printer and see if the error persists.

b. Clean the Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Open the ink cartridge access door and remove the problematic cartridge.
  3. Clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  4. Allow the contacts to dry, reinsert the cartridge, and close the access door.
  5. Plug in the printer, turn it back on, and check for the error.

c. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Go to HP's support website and search for your printer model.
  2. Download and install any available firmware updates for your printer.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete the update and check if the error is resolved. Update the firmware on an HP printer

Refer to this document: HP DeskJet 4133e All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
