I have bought non original toner cartridges – what I have successfully done before – but this time I get the message, that the printer is protected to solely use original HP chips.
This makes me furious, as I have bought the printer. It is my property, and what I do with it is my own case. I have used HP printers for 30 years and have bought multiple in my role as IT responsible in my company, but if HP wants to dictate to me where to buy my supplies, HP is totally wiped from all future purchases.
I have turned off the protection in the software panel, but it does not work.
Is there another way that allows me to get by this customer hostile function?

Hi @TueH,
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd like to help!
You may refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems. HP will not guarantee the functionality of those ink cartridges.
There are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it is not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.
Hope this helps.
Take care and have a nice day!
