how to manually remove the printheads for HP Smart Tank 519? I tried to open the ink cartridge access door while the printer is opened but it doesn't go in the middle for me to remove it. There was no issues found on the printer but the blank print is not printing properly.

Hi @MC519,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To manually remove the printheads from an HP Smart Tank 519 printer, follow these steps.
Turn On the Printer: Ensure that the printer is turned on. This helps the print carriage to move to the center for easier access.
Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Open the ink cartridge access door. The print carriage should move to the center automatically. If it does not, make sure the printer is powered on and wait for a minute.
Wait for the Carriage to Stop Moving: Allow the print carriage to stop moving and settle in the center of the printer. If it's not stopping, ensure that the door is fully opened and try again.
Unlock the Printheads:
- Locate the Printheads: You should see the printheads with the ink cartridges in place.
- Remove the Ink Cartridges: Press down on the ink cartridges to release them from their slots. Gently pull them out of the carriage.
- Release the Printheads: The printheads are usually secured with a small latch or locking mechanism. Look for a latch or button near the printhead area and gently press or slide it to release the printheads.
Remove the Printheads: Once the latch is released, carefully lift the printheads out of their slots.
Inspect and Clean: If you're planning to clean the printheads, use a lint-free cloth and some distilled water to gently clean the contacts and the area where the printheads are seated. Be cautious not to touch the nozzles.
Reinstall the Printheads: After cleaning or replacing the printheads, align them with the slots and gently push them into place. Make sure they click into position.
Reinsert the Ink Cartridges: Place the ink cartridges back into their respective slots. Ensure they are securely seated.
Close the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Close the door and ensure it clicks into place. The printer should automatically initiate a cleaning process.
Test the Printer: Try printing a test page to check if the issue is resolved.
If the print carriage still doesn’t move to the center or if you encounter any issues, you might need to perform a printer reset or check for any obstructions inside the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
