Short Answer
All ink used in the printer must include the embedded HP chip.
Be it refilled or re-manufactured, all ink cartridges must have the HP chip.
Old printers, listed in the exception document and that meet the criteria in that document, are not included in the limitation.
Details are included in "Longer Answer"
Longer Answer
We still see this question on occasion.
Nothing has changed.
Printers protected by Dynamic Security prevent use of cartridges that lack (do not have) an integrated HP chip in the cartridge.
There is no legal way to bypass the security.

What else?
IF your printer is a much older model AND meets the criteria outlined in the document, then Dynamic Security is not implemented on that printer's firmware.
IF your printer is an older model, meets the criteria, and is not impacted by Dynamic Security protection, then check with your ink supplier and perhaps ask about getting a replacement cartridge.
Reminder
Even in printers that do not expressly forbid the practice, using non-HP ink cartridges is not supported.
