hp 1515 printer - hp 678 catridges incompatible

Trying to get the HP deskjet ink advantage 1515 printer to print after a catridge replacement. 

the original hp 650 catridges ran out of ink. Bought the replacement hp 678 ink which was shown as compatible for the printer.

However, the printer complains about incompatibility with the lights blinking. 
Some other question here said a regional reset might be required. How to go about it?

Note: the printer was purchased in UAE, but now in India

The 678 ink cartridges are intended for a different region from your location, specifically Asia Pacific.

The ink cartridges specified for one region are not interchangeable with different cartridges required in another region.
