Product: HP Deskjet 3000 Printer - J310a

I bought an new hp 61xl tri color ink cartridge about an month ago at Walmart. My in ran out and put new on in about 8 times and wiping it off  and keep getting Tri-color cartridge problem. I can put my old one in no problem. I tried to return it being defective and said no refunds on ink cartridges. I bought an other new one and works perfect. I am out of $45.  Is there a way I can make the bad one work or send it back to you and get a good one?
