Hi  @WowBacon

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I can understand how important it is to get your printer back up and running, especially after already trying several  solutions.

To help us better understand the situation, could you kindly share:

  • The full error message displayed on the printer screen.
  • Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges?
  • Did the issue start after replacing an ink cartridge or after a period of inactivity?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Turn the printer on and wait until it is completely idle.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds while the printer remains unplugged.
  5. Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer back on.

Next, kindly inspect the cartridges:

  1. Open the cartridge access door.
  2. Remove each cartridge one at a time.
  3. Check for any damaged packaging material, protective tape, debris, or ink buildup on the cartridge contacts.
  4. Reinstall each cartridge securely and ensure it clicks into place.
  5. Close the access door and check whether the error clears.

You can also perform the printer's built-in diagnostics if the menu is accessible: Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead and then Print Quality Report.

Additionally, you may find the following HP resources helpful:

A "Supply System Problem" generally means the printer is having difficulty communicating with, monitoring, or delivering ink through the printing system. This does not always indicate that the cartridges themselves are faulty. The message can be triggered by cartridge contact issues, printhead-related conditions, interrupted ink flow, or an internal hardware component that requires further attention. Gathering the error details and cartridge information will help identify the exact cause and the most appropriate next step.

I hope this helps.

Hi @WowBacon,

Based on what you've described, this appears to be following different cartridges (Black, Yellow, and now Magenta) rather than remaining with a single cartridge, this may indicate an issue with the printer's cartridge detection system, printhead contacts, or another internal ink delivery component rather than the individual cartridges themselves.

Before determining the next step, please send us the following via private message:

  • A clear picture of the Black (K) cartridge.
  • A clear picture of the Magenta (M) cartridge.
  • A photo of the printer screen showing the current error message.

In the meantime, Kindly try these final checks and confirm :

  1. Remove the Black and Magenta cartridges.
  2. Inspect the copper-colored electrical contacts on both cartridges for ink residue, damage, or contamination.
  3. Using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water, gently clean the cartridge contacts and allow them to dry completely.
  4. Inspect the corresponding contacts inside the carriage for any visible ink buildup or damage.
  5. Reinstall the cartridges firmly and restart the printer.
  6. If the printer menu is accessible, print a Printer Status Report (click here for video reference steps) and check whether the same cartridges are identified as incompatible.
